Mr D. Leslie, seoretary of the Big Flat Dredging Company, Waipori, reports that the engineer udvise3 that the contractor for the erection of the machinery left for the dredge on Wednesday morning to finish off his contract. It is anticipated tbat the dredge will be in running order in about fire weeks' time.

At a meeting of shareholders in the defunct x Otama Gold Dredging Company on Saturday last it is understood it was decided to take proceeding* against the directors for damages owing to alleged maladministration of the oompany's affairs. The contention of the shareholders appears to be that tha directors, in buyiDg the Enterprise Gully dredge, paid an excessive Bum (£4,000) for her, that the machine was unsuitable for the work required to be performed, and that the purchase was carried out against the advice and designs of the oompany's engineer. The Golden Falls and Golden Channel Cos. have decided on liquidation.
