THE Lawrence Borough Council invite TENDERS for the PURCHASE of (1) 30 Debentures of £100 each, being the amount required to be borrowed for the Repayment of an existing Loan maturing on the 28th of February, 1901. (2) 50 Debentures of £100 each, being the amount required to be borrowed for the purpose of Lighting the Borough of Lawrence with Electricity. Tenderers to state the rate of Interest required. The Debentures will be for the term of 21 years, from the 28th of February, 1901. Interest thereon will be payable haly-yearly on the 28th of August and 28th of February in each year. < Principal and Interest may be made payable in Dunedin or Lawrenoe at the option of the holders. i The security for the Loans will be the Rents and Revenue of the Borough of Law- | renoe, and each Debenture and each Coupon 1 thereof is a debt of the Corporation to tbe holders thereof. I The Council will not necessarily accept any tender. A Deposit of 5 per cent, on the amount tendered for must accompany each tender, which will be returned to unsuccessful tenderers ; the balance will require to be paid on the issue of the Debentures not than 28th February, 1901.
