London, June 20. Lord Roberts has been silent since the 16th (Saturday), and it is supposed that the wires are cut. It is officially reported thafc all Pretoria and Capetown communications have been restored. Pretoria is quiet. The shops at Johannesburg are open, and a market is held daily. The streets are more orowded and business like. General Baden-±*oweli is at Hastenburg, where all is quiet. General Hunter oconpied Krugersdorp unopposed. The Boers are hemmed in by General Bundle, who is shelling Ficksburg. The enemy are endeavoring to break through the British cordon to the southward, fearing that General Buller is advancing from the north. General Bundle is strongly entrenched at Ficksburg and Senekal. Lord Kitchener narrowly escaped capture while sleeping in a train on Thursday, the 14th. De Wet on the 19th obstructed General Methuen escorting a large convoy to Heiibron. The Boers were routed. The British. casualtieß numbered only three. Eloff, captured at Mafeking, has reached Capetown. He will be sent to St. Helena.
