TUAPEKA COUNTY JOCKEY CLUB.
The annual meeting of the above Club was held in the secretary's office, Ross Place, la?t evening, when there was a good attend vnce of members ; Mr H. Craig (president) in the chair.

BEPORT AND BALANCE-SHEET.
The sixteenth annual report stated that the members were to be congratulated on the financial position of the Club. They started lut year with a credit balance of £6 16s at current account and £156 5s 3d at fixed de" posit and this year the credits advanced to £16 2s 7d and £158 13s 2d. This was most 0 ttisf actory, seeing that the nomination, &0., fees were over £20 less than last year and the totalisator money £50 less. The Committee reported the course in good order and recommended that grass seed be sown on it where required. Another recommendation was that a ladiee tea room be built. The cost would not exceed £25, and a place of this kind is badly wanted. The balance-sheet showed the total receipts from all sources to have been £491 0s 6d, and the expenditure £474 17s lid.
On the motion of Mr B. Hart, seconded by Mr E. Browne, the report and balance-sheet were adopted as read.

Browne.
GENERAL.
It was resolved that the race meeting take place on the Wednesday and Thursday, 17th »nd 18th January, 1900. The matter of accommodation for lady visitors to the meeting referred to in the report was relegated to the attention of the Grounds Committee, it being recognised that Buch was much required.
The President reported that the course was, considering the weather we had had, in very good order. He had employed Mr Caskie to clean out the water-tables and sort up the fences, and the work had been carried out in a thorough manner. — The action of the President was approved. A small account was passed for payment, and the meeting adjourned.
