Messrs Donald Reid and Co. report under date 19th February. Prices ruled as follow at our auction sale to-day : Oats.— Prime, Is 10$ dto Is llf d ; medium, Is 8d to Is lOd (sack* extra). Wheat.— Market still dull. Prime milling, 2s 8(1 to 2s 9d ; fowl wheat, scarce, 2s 7d to 2s 8d (sacks in;. Chaff.— Prime oat sheaf, £4 to £4 5s (sacks extra) ; inferior, £2 17s 6d. Hay. — We offered some prime old hay, trussed, but, bidding not reaching valuation, it was passed in. Potatoes.— Market glutted. Several lots being green and not in keeping condition had to be sold at prices which can only be described as ruinous. ( We would strongly advise growers not to send forward consignments that are not in keeping condition, and thus avoid the necessity of having to force them on the market. Kidney potatoes sold at £1 15s to £2 17s 6d; Derwents, £2 5s to £2 17s 6d (sacks in).
