MINING NOTES.
The manager of the Roxburgh Amalgamated Co. reports having cleaned up both lines of boxes on Tuesday, and obtained 940z 4dwt of gold, value £362 13s 6d, the result of 12£ days' elevating. Mr Peter Barr, secretary of the Hercules Sluicing Co.,has received the following telegram from the manager: — " Five days' sluicing, 460z lldwt 18gr, value £179 7s 3d."
The mine manager of the Island Block Extended Co. reports having washed up on Tuesday, the result being 430z 13dwt 21gr for seven days 'sluicing. The mine manager of the Amalgamated Waipori Deep Lead Goldmining Co. 1 eports for week ending 4th inst. as follows : — I am now down 26ft from the surface, and shall put in elevator No. 1 afc that level, get foundation for elevator No. 2 and place the latter in position. I shall then strip paddock to that level with both elevators when supply of water will permit." The Millers Creek Dredging Co. reporb having obtained 13oz 6dwo of gold for 128 hours' dredging.
