MINING NOTES.

The Millers Creek Dredging Co. have obtained 260z of gold for 194 hours' dredging. Messrs Gare and party, of the Bella reef, Waipori, washed up on Thursday, tho result being a cake of retorted gold weighing 360z.

The value of the gold obtained by the Ettrick Dredging Co. at their last wash-up was £48 11s 6d.

Mr Peter Bare, Secretary to the United Hercules Hydraulic Sluicing Co. (Limited), has received the following telegram from the manager: "Eighty-one ounces 19dwt, value £315 10s ; eight days' sluicing."

The miue manager of the Island Block Gold Co. reports under date 18th inst. : — " Everything is working well at the claim. I shall be washing up about Wednesday or Thursday. I am taking in a big paddock of top stuff, so that the wash-up will not be so big this time, but there are good thiugs in store. We have had a good fall of ruin, so that the water has freshened up. I don't think it will be short again, unless King Frost interferes."

The manager of the Roxburgh Amalgamated Mining and Sluicing Co. reports for the week ended 16fch insfc. as follows :—": — " We have had just sufficient water to keep one elevator going during the week. No. 2 has been running up till Friday, when I had the bottom eleaued in, and I started No. 1. 1 expect to have both elevators running on or about Tuesday, as we have bad a good fall of rain, and likely to have a good supply of water. Washed down No. 2 on-#Saturday : 51oz 12dwt llgr for 134 hours' sluicinjr, making for the two weeks 790z 16dwt 6gr."
