SHOOTING COMPETITION.
The Waitahuna Rifles/fired the fourth of a series of handicap competitions for the prizes presented by Lieut. -York and Vol. Laffey, and also prjges of ammuni--tion, at the Waitahuna range on Saturday afternoon. Competitors can either use Snider or Martini-Henry rifles. Owing to the unsteady wind that prevailed, the shooting was rather irregular. The following are the scores :— Sergt. Martin (M.H.), scratch .., 80 Vol. Wall (§.), 15 points ,',. '. 72 Carp E.lhs(M.H ), scratch ... 65 Lieut. Cameron (S.), scratch ... 58 Captain Patrick (M.H.), scratch 57 Winners of range prizes — Vol. Wall, Sergt. Martin, and Lieut. Cameron.
