That which I had in hand I threw away, Hor gay* it thought, so longed I to possess That rare thing, happiness. I went a "beggar, meeavwith waving hand ; . The bosom-prompter cried : M Demand, demand." Some toughed, some chid, to see how I did press My suit for happiness.

The palmar atood : through taan lie miled ea me : " Not ao { fond btggar, but I five to the* What thou didit cast away— nor more nor leas ; Tfcke peaoe, not happiness." .
