The Wetherstones aohool broke up for Chnatm-ts vac<*aou oa Friday, There was a fair attendance of parents to see and hear the performances of the pupils. The chairmnn of the school committee (Mr R. G. Fulton) presided. Glees were aung and recitations of poetry rendered very creditably. The boys went likewise through some drill movements, The chairman presented th» certiOcates of attendance as follows :— 'First class, G. Cox, A. Millard, W. Sherratt, A. Selby ; second class, H. Coxon, H. Selby, H. Cox, and G. liankin ; and when presenting them said a word of encuiragement to ea6h.
