THB DOCK TRUST LOAN. Dunbdin, December 23rd.
Mr Elder's report on the floating of the loan was laid before tbe Dock Trust today. He staes that he h»d arranged to fl jat it at par, when the damaging circulars of the Harbour B >ard were circulated, and all arrangements had to be caucelled. He then arranged, after some trouble, with one of the best houses in London to float it, and he handed in the agreement. The price of the loan will be 90.
DEATH OP A PKOMINEWT FORESTHR.
Kobert Stevenson, well known as a prominent member af the Order of Foresters and 1.0. G.T., died yesterday.
THE SHEEP SCAB.
A fresh case of scab has been discovered at the N.Z. L sndM. A. OVa Birch Hill Station, Matlborough. The Government are going to employ men to scour the back o^unry for scabby sheep, and try to ■tamp it out.
A BIG CLAIM SETTLED.
Judge Richmond to-day gave judgment for £5,000 worth of reclaimed land to Stewart aad Co. »_*inst the Wellington Corporation. The claim was lor £91,000.
