A WORD FOR THE MILLING CO.

(To the Editor.)

Sib, — It is muub io the credit of the TuAPEKA Times that it has brought local industries to the front, and I think I shall not be charged with adulation when I pluce yout paper in the foreground of all provincial papers for your outspokenness on the necessity of finding some industrial occupation for our rising und ever-increasing population, lam not in a position to determine whether our own local industry recently established amongst us is a success or otherwise, as I am not a shareholder, nor am I personally known to the managers of the Taapeka Milling Co., nevertheless, what I known about tho mill it is my solemn duty to make known. Oatmeal porridge has been a favorite dish with me for over seventy years ; I have eaten it in Scotland, England, Irelaud and Wales, also on board ship. And I think, without any egotism on my parb, I may be allowe • to say that I am a good judge of oatmeal, and I must conless that the Tuapeka Milling Company has sent out the best sample of oatmeal which I have tasted for mar>y years. I will only add that I consider it a great boon to have the means of a good wholesome breakfast brought to our doors, and it is not tho least consideration in these times of general depression that we get a good breakfast from a pennyworth of oatmeal. The mill ia honestly worthy of public support. — Yours, &c, Oatmeal PoEBiDaE.
