The Wanganui " Herald " says :— We understand that a movement is set on foot amongst the farmers and those interested in farming circles in this district to propound a scheme for the amelioration of the present depression. A number of gentlemen largely interested in the district have in projection a trip Home next year, and it is thought considerable good might accrue to the district by farmers generally associating to devise means by which some actual benefit should result. It is not known yet whether the intentions of the promoters lie in the direction of attempting to make better arrangements for cargoes, seeking cheap money, or what their inteutions are, but we can see in thiß scheme the means of doing much good if it is only carried out in the proper manner, and we anxiously await further particulars. A contemporary says ; " A woman who does a man's work ought to receive a' man's pay." A lazy husband says he haa no objection if she only payß a man's billa.
