THE SOUDAN.
Tbe Mudir of Dongola has arrived at Cairo
to confer with the English and Egyptian officials. On leaving Dongola same of the natives threw mud at him. General Graham telegraphed on April 6th to the Government as follows : — " Our march to Tamai, aud our destruction of that place, after Osman Digma's boast to drive us into the sea, must greatly discourage the rebel?." General Stephenson, reporting on April 11th, says that it will be practically impossible to move the British troops from Dongola daring the summer, as the Mile will not be navigable from March to July. The i report Is confirmed, that the British Government have invited' ltaly to occup/ Cairo and the Soudan.
