Fat Cattle.— l 36 yarded, representing all qualiiiee, the exceptions being some prime catt'e from South Canterbury. The limited number forward — chiefly because of the late glutted markets— caused rather better competition, and for prime beef an advance on rates rulling during the last two weeks of fully 2s 6d per 1001 b. Beat bullocks brought from £8 to £10 17a 61; others, £6 to £7 15s ; cows, £4 15s to £8 17a 6d.

Fat Calves. — Sixteen penued. Best sold at 18s to 21s ; others, 3s to 9s.

Fat Sheep.— 2o63 penned. Competition was slightly better, with a merely noticeable improvement on quotations for the previous week. Quotations — Best croas-breds brought 14a 9d to 16a ; others, 12s to 14s ; taerinos, 7s 9d to 113.

Fat Lambs.— Bs7 penned, the quality on the whole being very good. Although the number was considerable, competition was active throughout, and prime lambs made an advance of quite Is per head on late quotations.

Pigs. — 108 penned. Well-bred young stores in good demaud, but competition for bacon pigs less active. Suckers sold at 11s 9d to 19s 6d ; young stores, 20s to 28a 6d ; porkers up to 40*, and bacon pigs to 60s. Horses. — Messrs Wright, Stephenson and Co. report having held their weekly Bale on Saturday last. We quote first-class draughts at from £28 to £34 ; medium, £18 to £25 ; cood hacks and light-harness horses, £17 to £23 ; medium, £10 to £14 ; light ana inferior, £3 to £6.

Sheepskins. — Crosa-breda, inferior to medium, brought la 3d to 3s 7d ; f ull-woolled iio, 3s 9d to 5s 6d; meriuo, inferior, Is to 2s 6d; medium, 2s 9d to 3a 6d ; good fullwoolled, 3s 9d to 5s 4d ; pelts, 3d to 1* 6d ; lambskins, 4d to Is 4cl ; skins in bales, 4sd todid p.r Ib. Kabbitskins. — Summer skins brought from 7id to Is 3d ; suckers, 2id to 7d.
