Nominations for the Hurdle Race, Domnm Handicap, and District Handicap must be nndc to the Secretary at the Bobert Burns Hotel, Et trick, before 8 o'clock p.m.i on SATURDAY, Ist MARCH, 1884; the Weights to be declared in the Tuapeka Times of sth March. Genera) Entries musl bo made on or before SATURDAY, 15th MARCH, 1884. 2. The Dunedin Jockey Club Rules will be strictly adhered to. 3. All Entries and Acceptances tnu«t be in sealed covers, addressed to the Secretary, and must contain entrance-money; description, pedigree, and ngo of bones ; and colors to be worn by the jockey. A penalt/ of two sovereigns will bo enforced for Riding in wrong colors. 4. Three starters for each event or no race § 5. OIMPSON, HART, AND CO. having leosed '^ this celebrated Brewery, beg to intimate to the inhabitants of Tuapeka, Tokom;iiriro, Clutha, Teviot, Tapanui, Waikuia, and surrounding Districts that they have commenced Brewing, and hope, by supplying a first-class article, to receive a continuance of the patron* age so liberally bestowed upon their Predecessor?. The Brewery wil be under the imme-' diate supervision of Mr Simpson whose reputation as a first-class Brewer is favorably known in this and surrounding districts, having been in the employ of the lato firm in that enpacity for a number of yenrs. No expert will be wanting on tho part of the Proprietors to produce an articlo that will commend itself to their Customers, and sustain the good character of the Black Horse brew.
