Report for the week ending, 23rd instant : — The slight improvement of last week has not held good for this, business baring settled down to 'he dull routine usual at this time of the year, and a continuance of which may be expected until harreiting our present crop, the prospects of which loyk fairly promising. Quotations for the week are as follows :* • Wheat.— Sound milling, 3s 9d to 4s per bushel, delivered in Ohristchurch ; second quality, 3s 3d to 3s 66* ; chick wheat, Is lOd to 2s 3d per bushel. Oats.-— Prime milling, 2s Id to 2s 2d per bushel (f.0.b.) ; bright shoit feed, Is lid to 2a ; inferior and discoloured, 1* 9i to Is lid per bushel. Barley.— First-class malting, 4s to 4s 3d per bushel ; second quality, 3s 61 to 8a 8d ; feed Is lid lo 2s 2d per bushel. Grass Seed.— Unaltered since prerious quotations ; demand nominal.

Potatoes, 27a 6d to 30s at country stations.

Cheese and Butter : 4d to 6d for the former, and 5d to 7d for the latter (kegs extra).
