Sire : The pure bred Clydesdale stallion, Prince, imported from Scotland. Prince's dam, Princess Maud the First, the champion mare of the Colony, the winner of 18 First Prizes in Scotland and several in Victoria. Prince has • gained many First Prizes, and his stock cannot be surpassed* The Kyneton Agricultural Society awarded him First Prize for the best four yearling, competing against the stock of- two imported horses. At a recent National Show in Vie» toria, a yearling filly by Prince gained First Prize. He also took First Prize at the Waikouaiti and Sbag Valley Agricultural and Pastoral Association's Shows of 1872 and 1873 j and the First Prize at the Blueskin Agricultural and Pastoral A ssociation's Show, 1873. Young Pbince's dam is the pure-bred Clydesdale mare Kate, by Wallace, out of Maggie. A filly out of Kate took second prize a short time ago at Palmercton in a ring of seven, and was subsequently sold for 80 guineas, and is now kept exclusively for I breeding purposes on the Clydesvale estate. He is by the celebrated Clydesdale Stallion Thumper— a horse that has left grand stock in this district. Thumper's sire (tbe far-famed horse of that name) was^admitted by competent judges to be the best horse that ever travelled in Tasmania ; he was never vanquished in the Show-ring, and was bred by K. Simmonds, Esq., being out of that gentleman's famous champion mare The Dummy. Lord Loyat's «L»m was the' pure bred Clydesdale Polly, whose dam was imported from Tasmania Polly's sire was che far famed horse Marquis, who travelled in this district and has left some grand stock behind him.
