MOA FLAT SCHOOL EXAMINATION

The above school, which is in charge of Mr Guthrie, who is assisted by Miss Ballantyne, was examined by Mr Inspector Taylor on Tuesday last, the result (as will be noticed from the subjoined report) being very satisfactory, reflecting credit alike on teachers and pupils. The number of children whose names appear on the school-register is 73, and the number in attendance on the examination-day was 62:— Summary of Besultt.

The reading was much improved In distinctness and expression, and the language of the lessons was well explained. Spelling was ac curate, except in standard 11. Writing was good throughout, and much improved since last examination. Arithmetic was weak in standards iv. and v., and good in the others. Parsing was fair, and composition satisfactory. Geography and history were generally well understood. The order and attention were very good. Selene* and object-lessons, sewing and suiging, receive satisfactory attention. Wir.
