DUNEDIN GRAIN MARKET.

Messrs Donald Reid and Co. report :■*- Wheat : Prime quality in full demand at 4s to 4s 3d; medium, free from sprout, 3* 6d to 3s lOd ; sprouted and soft, 2s 6d to 3s sd. Oats : Bright, heavy feed and milling may be quoted at Is 8d to'ls lOd ; other sort?, dull of sale at Is 6d to Is 7id.

Mr Donald Steonach reports :— Wheat .: We quote prime milling, 4s 2d to 4s 3d ; fair to good, if hard and free from sprout, 3s 9d to 4s; medium, 3s 3d to 3j 6d ; fowls' wheat and inferior, 2s to 3*. Oats :Wi quote best milling, bright and 3tout (which are not in over-supply), at Is 10J ; bright, short feed, Is 8i to Is 9i ; medium, Is 6d to Is 7d ; inferior and discolored, Is to Is sd.

Messrs Stephenson and Co. report:— Wheat : Prime samples are in fair demand | other lots hard to quit. We quote prime milling (which is very scarce) at from 4s Id to 4s 3d; medium, up to 4s; fowls' feed, from 2s to 3s per bushel; Oats : Demand slack, and prices a shade lower. We quote prime milling up to Is lOd ; bright feed, Is 8d to Is 9d; medium, Is 5d tols6d; discolored, Is to Is 3d.

Messrs Weight, Stephenson, and Co. report: — Wheat: The market is very imc'ive — at present only prime samples of Tv« i iin and velvet being inquired fer. The d» maud for second qualities and fowls' wh \'U is almost nil. Oats : There is a good local demand for piime milling sample?, but beyond Miis there is but little to be done in ibis cerral j-ist now. Messrs Maclean and Co. report : — Wheat : For prime samples, there continue* a fair demand, hut for inferior, inquiries are not brisk. Oils : The m.irket \s quiot, unless for prime millin?, which would fetch Is 9£d to Is 10 1 ; henvy, bright fed, Isßi (o Is 9d 5 ordinary, Is 4 1 to Is 6d 5 discolored, Is to Is 31 per bushel. Seed oats of really prime quality and pure are in reques'. Ba-ley: Unless prime malting parcel?, there is little demand, brewers not being at all anxious for secondary quality. We quote prime ud to 4s 61 ; medium, 3s to 4s 5 feed, 2s 6d to 3s.

DUNEDIN MARKETS-STOCK, &o. Messrs Maclean and Co. report for the week ending July 4th as follows :—: —

Fat Cattle. The number to-day at Burnside was 150 head, of which only about 50 were prime, the ba'anee fair to good. Competition f or prime qualify was brisk, and an advance of from 2s 6d to 5s was obtained. This latter price may bo quoted for several pens of an extra fine draft from the Gladbrook Estate; but, taking the market as a whole, it showed an advance of quite 2s 6d on last week's rates. Prime bullocks brought from £9 to £13 2t 6d ; fair to good, £4 10i to £7 15s; cows, from £4 53 to £7 15.«. We yarded 51, and sold them as follows; — On account of Mr William Kelley (Stirling), 65 head light-weight bullocks at from £6 5s to £7 2f, 6J ; on account of Mr J. H. Wilson (Waipori), 8 head do. a*, for bullocks £5 17s 6d to £6 2s 6 I, and heifers, £7 ]2s 6d ; on account of Mr William Shand (Keith Hall), 20 head light-weight steers and heifers at up to £5 12s 61; and on account of other vendors, 10 head at quotations. We quote prime beef at 253 per 100! b.

Fat Sheep. 2,311 were penned for to-day's market, 400 of which were merino?, and the balance cross-bivds. About half of the latter ■were medium weights and qualily, and from the fact, of the butchers huvingsmall or no stocks on hand, prici>s ruled about caual to last week's quotations Cros3breds brought from 30s 6.1 to 15s 31 j merinos, 7s 3 I to 11s. We penned 971, and sold them as follows :— On accouut of Mr D. Campbell (Palmerston), 42 cros3breds at lls ; on accouut of Mr S. Wright (Sfirlina), 77 do. at from 10s 6d to 13s 9d ; on account of Messrs A. and J. Brown (Green Island), 42 crossbreds at 13s 6d, and 62 meiinos at 7s 3d ; on account of Mr J. Smith (Oamaru), 60 crossbreds at from 14s to 14s 9J ; on account of the New Zealand and Australian Land Company (from their Clydevnje Estate), 200 crossbred ewes at from 13s to T4s ;' on account of Messrs J. Templctoi and Co., 801 crossbreds at from 10s 6d to 12s 9J.; on account of Mr J. Geggie (Puerua), 152 do. at 10a 9d ; and on account of Mr W. Miller (Mount Stewart), 24 do. at 13s 3d, and 11 merinos at 83 61. We quote prime mutton 2Jd per lb.

Fat Lambs. — 155 were penned to day, and which we sold on account of Mr James Lamond (Waitepekn), at from 8s 6.1 to 9a. Fat Pigs. — 147 were yarded, and sold at for suckers, 63 ta IO3 ; porker?, 203 to 35s ; bacon pigs, up to £5,

Store Cattle. — Fifty head were yarded at Burnside to-day. We sold 25 as follows--viz., eightcen-months-oU steers and heifers at up to 255, and 2^-year-old steers and heifers, £2 15s.

Horses.— On Saturday last the demand was somewhat slack for draughts as cimpared with the past few weeks. Doubtless this was owing to tho fact that the Sydney buyers have been engaged shipping and completing their present orders. At our sale held as usual in our yards, Dunedin Tattersalls, we offered a large number of a itries of all descriptions, and sold the greater portion as follows- viz., first-class draughts brought from £30 to £40 ; • medium, £20 to . £27 ; good hacks and light-harnws horses, £12 to £17 ; medium, £7 10s to £11 10 a.

Sheepskins. — We held our usual weekly sale on Monday last, when we submitted a fair number of skins of all descriptions. The demand was brisk, and a considerable improvement in price, compared with last week, was obtained. The at tendance was large, the ordinary buyers being present. Dry crossbreds brought from Is4d to 3s 6d ; merino, 2s 3d to 2s 10J ; skins in bales, 4£d per lb ; butchers' crossbreds, 3s 2d to 33 6d ; merinos, 2s 7d to 33 4-1 ; lambsKins, 3s 3d.

Jiabbitskins. — We submitted various lots at our sale held on Monday last, and obtained the following prices— vz , siukers, 2d per lb ; and well furred winter skins, Is 4 1 per lb. Hides and Tallow. — Recent quotations remain unaltered. We have no sales during the week to report.
