Sir G. Whitmore supported the Hon. Mr Holmes's views. The Hon. Mr Robinson and Dr Menzies, while agreeing that nothing could be effected by carrying the motion, urged that every consideration should be given to the question of a direct service. The motion was then withdrawn. BILLS DEALT WITH. The Married Women's Property Bill was recommitted and further amended. The Bills of Exchange Bill was further considered in committee.
