DUNEDIN GRAIN MARKET.

Mr Donald Stbonach reports :— Wheat : We quote prime milling, 43 6d to 4s 7d ; medium, 43 to 4s 4d ; inferior and fowls' feed, Is 6d to 3s 4d per bushel. Oats : Prime milling, 3s ; bright feed, 2s lOd to 2s lid per bushel. Messrs Weight, Stehpenson, and Co. report : — Wheat continues in fair demand; Prices are as follows : — For prime Tuscan or purple straw, 4a 7d per bushel ; prime red straw and velvet, 4s 6d ; medium, 4s 3d to 4s 5d j inferior, 2s 6d to 3s 6d. During the week we have sold 11,600 bushels at quotations. Oats are in demand, and any good lots coming to hand are readily placed at quotations, which are 3s for first-class feed, and 3s to 3s Id for milling ; for a very prime sample of potato oats (for seed) we obtained 3s 2d. Altogether during the week we sold 10,000 bushels. Messrs Maclean AND Co. report :— Wheat: For prime milling 4s 6d per bushel is obtained, but for inferior and ordinary samples there is little doing ; we quote 4s to 4s 4d ; fowls' feed, 2s 6d to 3s 6d. Oats : There is still an active inquiry for oats, and lots arriving meet with ready sale at 2s lOd to 2s lid for good feed, and 3s for milling. Messrs Stephenson and Co. report: — Wheat : For medium, iuquiry is not so strong, but inferior and fowls' feed are much sought for. We quote prime milling 4s 6d to 4s 7d ; medium, 4s to 4s 4d ; inferior and fowls' feed, Is 6d to 3s 4d per bushel. Oats: Prime milling, 3s j bright feed, 2s lOd to 2s lid per bushel. Messrs Donald Reid and Co. report: — Wheat: Our week's sales have been 2645 sacks at 4s 4d to 4s 6d, and for some choice Tuscan Id to 2d more. Medium quality is worth 38 lid to 4s 2d ; inferior and fowls' feed, 2s lid to 3a 6J. Oats : Milling sorts are much, inquired for, with, few offering. We quote heavy milling, 3s to 3s Id ; feed, 2s lid to 3a, at which prices we sold 4250 sacks. Barley is very scarce, and for bright mailing samples 4s to 4s 6d ia obtainable j feed and milling, 3s to 3s 9d. DUNEDIN MARKETS-STOCK, &c. Messrs Donald Reid and Co. report for the week ending 29th March as follows : — Fat Cattle— 2l4 yarded: A fair proportion of these were prime, and most of the rest'useful quality. The sales opened at fully last week's prices. Bullocks sold at £5 15s to £10 103 ; cows, £4 17s 6d to £8 10a—

or equal to 20s to 22s 6J per lOOlbs for prime beef. We yarded 61 head, and sold on account of John Sutherland, Esq, East Taieri '7 bullocks (light w.-ights), £6 5s to £7 2a 6.1, 6 heifers £5 to £6 10* ; 011 account of Mr J. Oughton, Jane Geld, 4 steers £4 10'; on account of Mr J. Kirkland, Green Island, 9 bullocks up to £5 15s ; on account of Messrs M'Donald and Reid, 16 bullocks up to £10 10s; and for Messrs Waldie, Brown, and Stoddart 6 head up to £5 10?.

Fat Calves. — 7 yarded. These were really prime quality, and sold at 16s to 27s 6d each. Fat Sheep.— 4osl penned; consisting of 130 merinos of inferior to medium quality, and 3921 crossbred?, chiefly prime, and including some extra heavy weights. Crossbreds sold at 8s 9d to 16s 6 ', merino prime 103 to lls 6d, others 6s to 7s 9d. We sold on account of Mr J. M'Nab, 50 crossbreds 12s 3d ; on account of Mr W. L. Riddell, 53 crossbreds, 12s 6d to 16s 6d ; on account of Mr D. MEwing, 120 merino ewes, 6s ; on account of Mr J. Patrick, 46 merino ewes, 7s ; and for Mr D. Kelly, Kaitangata, 70 prime crossbreds at 14s 6d. We quote prime mutton 2£dperlb.

Fat Lambs. — 315 penned; these included some prime lots. There was fair competition for the best quality, which sold at 8s 9J to 10s 6cl, others 6s to 7s 6d.

Fat Pig9.—lsl yarded, fully half of these were good and prime porkers. These sold at from 19s to 355 ; stores, 12s 6d to 17s 6d ; suckers, 5a 6d to 10s. We quote pork 3i per lb.

Store Cattle.— There is enquiry for forward conditioned bullocks.

Store Sheep. — There is still a good demand for half-bred sheep of all descriptions. The demand for full-mouthed merinos h not quite so brisk. For young sheep there is fair demand.

Wool. — On Monday we offered and disposed of a few bales. There was *air competition. We subjoin brands and prices of the lots : — JO, 1 ba<? greasy merino 7id, 1 do pieces, 5f d ; P, 1 bale greasy merino 9£cl, 1 bag pieces, sf d ; HP (conjoined), 2 bags mixed B£d, 1 do pieces, 6Jd ; HS, 1 do pieces 4§d ; R, 1 do pieces 6£d ; N, 1 do oroes-bred lOd, 2do cross-bred, Bd, 1 do locks, 2£d ; D, 1 do locks, 3id ; SS, 1 do pieces, 4f d ; X over D, 1 bale greasy merino and eros3-bred, 9d, 2 do locks and pieces, 2d ; H, 3do greasy merino, 9d, 3 do cross-bred and merino, 9d.

Sheepskins. — At our regular sale we disposed of a large catalogue. Dry country skins ruled low; green cross-breds sold at Is 4d to 2s Id ; dry do, Is 3d to 5s 8d ; merinos, Is 3d to 5a 4d ; lambskins, Is lOd to 2s 6d.

Hides.— This market has a drooping tendency, more especially for light and inferior descriptions, which may now be quoted at 3£d ; heavy sound lots fetch 4cl per lb.

Tallow.— We cleared out all parcels to hand; prices if anything ruled in favor of buyers. Butchers' mixed rendered sold at 28s ; medium quality, 265 ; rough fat, 18s 3d to 19s per cwt.
