(3.) From Edward Herbert, requesting permission to plant trees in Harrington Place. He considered the Town of Lawrence,- backward in the . matter of plantingtrees on 'the streets, andhe thought they should take the matter in hand. The following report of the Public Worlfs Committee, was read, received, and after some discussion adopted :—: — We have to report that^hejrepairs to the bridgi in Derwent-street been satisfactorily completed by the con tractor (G. W. Robn son), also the work authorised in Obanatreet This work has been accomplished by the 8i rf aceman and one day-man,- ab the 'trifling cost oi about £3. ;.^ ; .-'r - .
