The Waste* Land Board met on the 24th. Present : The Chief Commissioner, Messrs Butterworth, Clark, Strode, and Tolmie. ■ Mr Doughty's application for Messrs Nicol and Mackay, for a saw-mill license at Waipori Bußb, was postponed. The application by Messrs Connell and Moodie for a reduction of fee for the sawmill ut Catlin's River, of Messrs Guthrie«*nd Asher, was referred to the Surveyor"' for report. Messrs Connell and Moodie's application for permission to John Nelson to complete survey of land in block 13, Hillend, was granted^ Survey to be completed by the ' district snrveyor. " It was directed that Mr Jay be informed that the Government does not wish' to take advantage of -the expiry of his agricultural lease, Leaning Block, * since his application te purchase. Messrs Uren and Bennett's application' to purchase 13 acres of land in block 2, Mount Benger district, Was declined, as contrary to the regulations. Luke It was decided that the Board, having decided to withdraw the land from sals applied for by'Captaiu Mackenzie through Me t-rs Kenyon and Turton, considered there was flp case to submit to the Supreme Conit. The withdrawal was directed to be notified in the Gazette.. The Hon. A rehearing of a case already decided in the. case of Mr Feraud, waatfiantcd for this day fortnight ; notice to be" aent to the parties, the Judge's opinion being that such a rehearing could be given. Mr Edward Cook's- application, to have the names of Mr Thomas Jewitt and others registered as having a share in a coal mine, was declined. The consideration of Warden Beeth.\m, on Messrs D. Aitken and William Barker's application for a saw-mill license at Batcher's Creek, Skippers, was postponed* ■
