This Company is formed for the purpose of placing a Steam Dredge on the Molyneux River, near Alexandra, to work the deposits in the bottom of said river- It is needless here to dilate on the richness of those deposits, it being so well known the quantities of gold obtained for the last 5 years by the dredges worked by manuallabor. Tt isequally well known the days for dredging by manual abor are speedily passing away. It is contemplated to procure a dredge made wholly of iron, fitted with steam engine of 20-horse power nominal (capable of being worked up to 40-horse), and worked on the bucket and ladder principle. The Provisional Committee have placed themselves in communication with the best engineering skill in the province (some being personally conversant with the nature of the river deposits), the wiole being of opinion that there is no engineering difficulty to contend with. It is contemplated to raise 1 ,000 tons per day. The cost per ton will not exceed Od, including wear and tear. The amount of ground^ is unlimited.
