GENTLEMEN, — I regret to inform you that in consequence of the day of nomination having been fixed for Saturday next, the 21st inst., I am reluctantly compelled to return to Dunedin. IN Pursuance of the Regulation of Elections Act, 1870, I, John Dewe, Returning Officer for the Electoral District of Tuapeka, do hereby give notice that by virtue of a Writ bearing date the 30th of December, 1870, under the Public Seal of the Colony, an election will be held for the return of one qualified person to serve as a Member of the House of Representatives for the said Electoral District : and that the Nomination of Candidates will take place at the Court House, Lawrence, at Noon, on Tuesday the 7th day of February, 1871 ; and that the Poll, if necessary, will be taken on Tuespay, the 14th day of February, 1871. BRADSHAW begs to announce to the Electors of the Waikaia District, that he will be present at the Nomination at Switzers, on Saturday, tho 28th Jan., prior to which, he will address them on the various subjects at present agitating the public mind ; more particularly on the important subjects of the Immigration and Public Works Act and the Land Question. At TAPANUI, on MONDAY, tho 30th January, at 8 p.m. At MILLER'S FLAT, on TULSDAY, the 31st January, at 8 p.m. At ROXBURGH, on WEDNESDAY, the Ist February, at 8 p.m. After which he will return to Switzers in order to visit Nokomai and Waikaka. CHURCH OF ENGLAND ' BAZAAR. mHE Bazaar in aid of the Church -*■ Building Fund will be held on TUESDAY, 28th February, and the three following days. Contributions of work, &c, earnestly solicited. CHURCH OF ENGLAND, TEVIOT. THE REV. G. P. BEAUMONT will hold Services at the Teviot on Sunday Next, the 29th inst., at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m.
