Young Abdallah is out of a thoroughbred mare, imported from Tasmania by John Weir, Esq., of the Western District, Victor ia ; is 7 years old, and has proved himself a sure foul getter. He has left some of the most promising stock in the province at the Clutha District. Abdallah (bred by Mr. Batson in 1847) was got by The Provost, out of Barbara ; Barbara, was by Plenipotentiary out of Sain, who was got by a son of Dick ! Andrews' (Dick Andrews was by Joe Andrews, a son of Eclipse). The dam of Satfi was got by Totteridge (Totteridge was by Dungannon, a son of Eclipse), out of sister to Mariamf, by Squirrel, I out of Miss Meredith, by Cade (son of the Godolphin Arabian), out of the Little Hartley Mare. The Little Hartley Mare was by Barlet's Childers (own brother to Flying Childers), out of Large Hartley Mare, whose pedigree in three generations can be traced to a royal mare. The Provost, the sire of Abdallah, was by The Saddler, out of Rebecca, by Lottery; her dam by Cervantes, out of Anticipation ; mare of her dam by Beningbrook (Beningbrook by King Fergus, a son of Eclipse. Terms : — £3 on delivery of mares. A 300 acre English gwss paddock provided fur marcs, witliout responsil'ility, free for one weak, after which 2s. 6d. per week will be churned ; or the option of a natural grass paddock free of charge. Patrick, Spylaw, Will Travel in the MOUNT BENGER DISTRICT This Season. j Youxg Emperor is by Emperor, out of an imported Clydesdale mare, the property of James Patterson, Esq., M.L.C, Lovells Flat. He is a light bay, rising three years old, is perfectly quiet, has fine action, superior bone, and great muscular power, and took the first prize at the Tokomairiro Show as a yearling. Emperor, the sire of Young Emperor, is out of Nancy, bred by Alexander Findlay, Esq., Sandyhills, near Glasgow. Nancy Avas got by the celebrated Garvary Horse, and her dam by Scotsman, the property of James Kirkwoods, Kilmaxirs. Nancy was first shown as a three year old, and got first prize at Hamilton, first at Bailleston, second at Glasgow, and second at Kilbride. She was next shown as a brood mare at Glasgow and Kilbride, where she received similar honors. His sire is the well known imported horse Napoleon, whose stock is not excelled in the province. Emperor is of great strength, and compactly built. He has proved himself a sure foal-getter, and his stock is of a superior description. Emperor was shown at Dunedin when a two-year-old, when he received second prize as the best horse of any age, his sire being first ; and first prize for the best two-year-old. He has also been shown at Oamaru and West Taieri, and each time a successful competitor. Terms : — £3 ; Groomage, ss. Groom's fee payable at first service, and all demands payable to the Groom on or before the Ist February, 1871, when the season ends.
