PLUNKET SOCIETY.
The monthly meeting of the Marshland Plunket Committee was held in the hall on Thursday afternoon, Mrs Delama in presiding, and the following members being present: Mesdames Boyd, Palmer, Stackwood, Andrews, Prat (ley, R. Crozier, Wilson, 33rickson, Skelton, Blank and Marks (secretary). Mesdames Stackwood and Marks were appointed delegates to confer with the hall committee on Monday evening to discuss ways and means of raising funds to procure a new piano for the hall. The secretary was instructed to write to Mrs Cecil Wood conveying the committee’s pleasure that she was elected a life member of the society and also a vice-president of the Christchurch branch. Congratulations were also extended to Mrs E. Harris, president of the Belfast sub-branch, on her election as vice-president of the Christchurch branch. The resignation of Mrs Delnmain as president of the sub-branch was received with regret, and it was decided to place on record -appreciation of her splendid and inspiring services as president for the past four years. Mrs J. R. Stackwood was elected president. Tt was to hold a fancy dress party on October 25, details to be arranged later.
