Mr G. C. Rodda Appointed Secretary. MR PARK FAREWELLED. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, June 28 The lion Adam Hamilton, actingMinister of Finance announced today that the Public Service Commissioner had appointed Mr G. C. Rodda, at present assistant secretary to the Treasury as Secretary to the Treasury in succession to Mr A. D. Park. C.M.G., who is retiring to take up one of the managing directorships of the Mortgage Corporation of New Zealand. The announcement ol Mr Rodda’s appointment was made by the Minister at a departmental fiarew*eli at the Treasury,

and it was greeted with applaffse. Mr Rodda received _ personal congratulations from Mr Hamilton, Mr Park and members of the staff. Nearly 100 ipefnbers of the Treasury Department assembled at a farewell to Mr D. Park. The Hon Adam Hamilton, in making a presentation of a six-valve wireless set from the Treasury staff to Mr Park, paid a tribute to the retiring secretary and to the department as a whole. It was a pleasure to be present and to express appreciation of loyal and able service. He said that Mr Park had been head of the Treasury for five and a halt 3'ears and had been called upon to deal with many difficult and abnormal conditions. His work had given complete satisfaction to the Government.
