8000 MEALS AT ONCE.
Eight thousand meals can be served at a time in the Princess Royal Canteen on Sir Montague Burton’s 100acre Workshop Estate in Leeds. The social centre of a community of 10.000 workers, the canteen has medical . clinics, including a lighttherapy department, while tennis courts and playing fields are available in the vicinity. This modern mill commonwealth has a T branch of the League of Nations Union which is believed to be the largest in Britain. There is a membership of more than 6000. Sir Montague believes in keeping his workers happy—and healthy. Modern ventilation processes change the air in the factories four times every hour.
