Pereira Beaten in Exciting Contest. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, June 24. A packed audience in the Wellington Town Hall was treated to-night to one >f the most exciting straight wrestling encounters of the season, when A 1 Pereira, the American Portuguese, met Earl McC ready, a Canadian, who claims the Empire title. With both men wrestling hard and cfeverly, Pereira put up an excellent performance, hut was beaten by a dump and a body-press in the fifth round and another boefy-press almost immediately afterwards.
