TRAMWAY REVENUE.
Number of Passengers Increase. An increase in both revenue and passengers for the city trams was recorded in a report presented to the Christchurch Tramway Board this afternoon for the period covering the four weeks preceding May 26. At the same time, there was a decrease in both passengers and revenue on the petrol buses. The total earnings for the trams and trolley buses for the period were £13.484, compared with £13,326 last vear. Operating expenses -were £9BBB (£9608). passengers 1.393.170 (1,364,092) and the mileage 216,930 miles (208,100). Th£ earnings of the petrol buses amounted to £358 (£381), operating expenses to £365 (£390), passengers totalled 30.119 (35.267) and the mileage 7665 miles (7599).
