MAN DROWNED.
Motor-car Plunges Into Creek. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND. June 23. A motor-car driven by Charles Johns, of Mount Eden, crashed irfto the railings of a bridge over the Mangawara stream at Hoe-o-Tainui this morning. The car fell into the creek below. Mr Charles Hunt, of Valley Road, Mount Eden, who was in the back seat, was unable to get out and was drowned. John and Alfred Hunt, brothers of the deceased, managed to extricate themselves. They summoned help and recovered the body of Charles Hunt. Deceased was proceeding on a visit to his son, who is a farmer at Ngongotaha, near Rotorua.
