SUNDAY CONCERT.
An entertaining concert was given in the Civic Theatre last evening by the St John Ambulance Association, in aid of the sick and injured. Mrs Matthews’s Hawaiian Orchestra made its first appearance and was well received. Others who contributed to the programme were Mr Vic Claude, of the Honolulu Hawaiian Stxidio (yodelling numbers, with Spanish guitar). Miss Withell (elocutionist). The Honolulu Trio. Mr R. Brown (violin solos). Miss Irma Barnes (soprano) and Mr Munnerly (concertina numbers). Singing, paper-folding and n’ano-accordeon numbers were contributed by Mr Matthews, whose cartooning and comic sketches were a feature of the evening. The programme was brought to a close with numbers by the Melody Makers’ Orchestra.
