AFTERNOON PARTY.

June Bride Honoured by Friends. . An afternoon party for Miss Katie Polemedis, who is to be a June bride, was given yesterday by Mrs H. E. W. Roberton at her home in Bealey Avenue. The late autumn flowers, chrysanthemums, roses, stylosis and African marigolds were used to decorate the reception rooms. Mrs Roberton wore a charming hostess frock of black taffetas striped in red and gold. After her marriage to Mr Donald Robison, Miss Polemedis will take up residence in a house in Papanui, and gifts of jam and pickles, to form a nucleus for her preserves cupboard, were brought by the guests at yesterday’s party. Entertaining games and competitions were enjoyed by the guests, Miss Barbara Bloxam and Mrs Leslie Averill being the winners of the competitions. Among those who enjoyed Mrs Roberton’s hospitality were Miss Katie Polemedis. Mrs Leslie Averill, Mrs Bede Loughnan. Mrs Tyndall Harman.
