KING’S BIRTHDAY.
Postal Arrangements Announced. The Post Office will be closed on Monday, June 3, the King's Birthday. Mails for principal country offices in the North Island and on the West Coast will close at 7 a.m., hut late fee letters for the North Island may be posted at the railway station on the steamer train. Posting boxes in the city and suburbs will be cleared as usual at 10 p.in., and they will also be cleared at 10 p.m. on June 2, to connect with early morning mails on the King's Birthday. The private box lobby will be open as usual from 7 a.m. to 1.30 a.m. There will be no deliveries on the King’s Birthday, but a counter delivery of correspondence will be made at the postmen’s branch on Saturday, June 1. from 7.30 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. The branch is upstairs over the east entrance to the Post Office. The telegraph office will be open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and from 7 p.m. <0 midnight, and the principal telephone exchanges will be open continuously, while others will observe holiday hours. The Money Order and Savings Bank Offices will be closed.
