NEW FIRE BOARD.

Three Changes Made in Membership. Three changes take place in the composition of the Christchurch Fire Board as the result of an election for insurance company representatives, the appointment of new City Council representatives and the appointment of a new Government representative. Mr C. A. Cooper was Government representative, but resigned a month ago, and he has been replaced by Mr A. Williams, who was chairman of the board some years ago when he was one of the City Council representatives. The election of the insurance company representatives resulted in the return of the present chairman, Mr T. M. Charters, and Messrs K. W. Robinson and A. F. W. Preston, Mr Preston replacing Mr C. Hill. Last night, the City Council appointed Messrs E. H. Andrews, T. H. Butterfield and W. S. Mac Gibbon as its representatives. Mr E. Parlane, a former member of the board, did not seek reappointment.
