The members of the committee of the Ohristchurch Savage Club gathered yesterday at a luncheon at Ballantyne’s tea-rooms to take leave of Mr M. JBurns, a vice-president of the club, who is leaving Christchurch to-morrow night to take uo a position in Ilawera Great Chief W. S. Mac Gibbon, who presided. referred to the services Mr Burns had given to the club ano to the respect in which he was held. He wished Mr Burns every success in Ilawera. Mr Burns -was elected an honorary member of the Christchurch Savage Club.
