THE TUNNEL ROAD.
Construction Advocated by City Councillor. Notice of motion of his intention to ask the City Council to support the tunnel road proposal was given by Councillor F. D. Sargent at last night’s meeting of the City Council. In giving notice. Councillor Sargent said that he would propose that a committee consisting of Councillors J. W. Beanland, E. H. Andrews. T. H. Butterfield and himself should be appointed a committee to confer with the Minister of Employment, and the Unemployment Board, with a view to having the work commenced as a major work.
