“SOCIETY DOCTOR.”

Virginia Bruce and Chester Morris Co-starred. Speed, excitement and romance are the features of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer’s film “ Society Doctor,” which heads this week’s programme at the Majestic. The whole action of the piece take.s place within eight hours and there is not one second of tedium. The story deals with the tangled romance of two young doctors in the hospital, and an attractive nurse. Few pictures have included so many breathless and unusual situations. One feature of this excellent show is that it brings to the screen a new team of lovers in Chester Morris and Virginia Bruce. These two stars give remarkable portrayals, and associated with them is a newcomer to the screen. Robert Taylor, who by his performance is already well on the way to stardom. In addition, Fred Argyle provides a happy interlude of fifteen minutes’ bright comedy on the stage. Chief among the screen supports is an excellent Laurel and Ilardy comedy. “ Them Thar Hills.” This is Laurel and Hardy at their best, and there is some delightful slapstick comedy staged in a caravan camp. Those who remember the wonderful simulation ot intoxication which was a feature of their performance in “Fra Diavolo ” will look forward to fun in this rollicking comedy and they will not be disappointed. There are also on the programme a gazette and an animated cartoon in colour.
