MATINEE TROTS.

Meeting at Addington To-day. The Canterbury Owners’ and Breeders’ Association held its third matinee meeting at Addington this afternoon in dull and cold weather. Good entries were received and race conditions were observed. The first heat of the two-year-olds race was won by Pot Luck, a gelding belonging to Mr J. D. Smith. Mr C. S. Donald’s Celebri+y was second, and Mr G. W. Watkins’s Maltravers third. MILE AND A HALF; TWO-YEAR-OLDS. First Heat. POT LUCK, Mr J. D. Smith's b g, by Jack Potts—Hope Dillon (Owner) i CELEBRITY. Won by two lengths, third horse three lengths away. Time—3min 39 2-ssec. NOTES ON RACING. Pot Luck Wins First Heat for Two-year-olds. Celebrity led out from Maltravers, Bill Grattan and Pot Luck in the first heat of the two-vear-olds’ race. Racing through the straight Celebrity and Bill Grattan were at the head of a bunched field. *Chieftainess and Pot Luck were the nearest attendants. Going down the back Celebrity and Pot Luck drew away from the others and in the run home Pot Luck beat Celebrity by half a length, with Maltravers three lengths back. Rollalong w-as fourth. Three-year-olds’ First Heat. Royal Doulton led out from Bluff and the Truman Direct—Sadie Huon gelding. Going into the back straight the Truman Direct—Sadie Iluon gelding took charge from Royal Doulton. Bluff, Royalty and Bay Flyer. There was little change until approaching the mile and a quarter post, when Royal Doulton went to the front, closely followed by Bluff, Royalty, the Truman Direct—Sadie Huon gelding and Bay Flyer. In the run home Royal Doulton won nicely by two lengths from Bluff, who finished three lengths in front of Bay Flyer.
