MAN AND WIFE KILLED.
United Press Assn.— By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. MELBOURNE. May 26. Mr G. P. Fairbairn, a member of the well-known Victorian pastoralist family, and his wife were killed to-day when their aeroplane crashed after taking off from Essendon Aerodrome for a flight to their home. Immediately after the take-off the engine cut out and the machine went into a spin and crashed on to a road, narrowly missing a motor truck. Mr Fairbairn learned to flv in England and in 1930 and in the following year made a leisurely flight to Australia. Mrs Fairbairn was at the controls when the accident occurred.
