Fairways Need Attention at Harewood. An excess of income over expenditure of £4l 11s 2d after writing off £379 0s 5d for depreciation, is recorded in the twelfth annual report of the Harewood Golf Club which will be presented at the annual meeting to be held on Monday, February 25, at 8 p.m. Continued economy was necessary to provide, for capital expenditure in the form of improvements to the watering scheme which was now inadequate, and the sowing of the fairways, which was also a matter needing immediate attention. The high standard of excellence of the greens had been fully maintained, but the present watering system had been drained to the utmost and was inadequate owing to the mains being too small. The report points out that if the mains were enlarged there would be ample water to supply eighteen greens at a time. The club was indebted to the president. Mr A. E. Kincaid, for the donation of the Junior Championship Cup and to Messrs Walker and Hall, Auckland, for the Intermediate Cup. Avondale Club.
