MINERS RESUME WORK.
Ministry Intervenes to End Strike. United Press Assn.- —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. (Received Februarv- 18, 12.35 p.m.) PERTH, This Day. The Western Australian goldmining companies have accepted the Ministry’s proposals for a settlement of the dispute, which has caused the mines to be idle for six weeks. Work will be resumed immediately. Within six weeks the mines will decide by ballot whether they favour a fortnight with 40 hours’ work in one week and 48 hours in the next, or a 44 hours’ week. The miners at a mass meeting decided in favour of resumption on this basis.
