FARMING PURSUITS.
Back to the Land Move in England. WELLINGTON, February 15. _On his return to-day by the Rangitiki after fifteen months as exchange lecturer in economics at Leeds University, Mr H. R. Rodwell, of Auckland, said a big bid was being made by England to engage in farming, but there were great difficulties in the way of reorganisation, largely because of tradition and custom among the mass of farmers. Much more development of British farming could be expected, especially in butter and milk, also in the beet sugar industry. The quota effects were quite apparent, in keeping with farm expansion. He thought it possible that a quota would be applied to New Zealand butter.
