PAPANUI HALL.

Scheme for Improvements Adopted. At a meeting of the Papanui Memorial Hall Committee on Thursday night, the city architect’s plans for altering the hall were adopted. Mr C. L. August presided and there were also present: Messrs E. H. Andrews (City Council), , W. G. Chapman and C. W. Moore (Wai-' mairi Council), A. Syme, J. Sturrock, J. A. Reynolds and W. Moffatt. The plans give the library a separate entrance at the southern corner of the Papanui Road frontage and an enlarged library. The ornamental dome is to go and another smaller hall is to built above the library. The size is 30ft by 42ft, and the hall will be suitable for private socials and dances. Additional cloak rooms are provided.
