JOCKEY’S INJURIES. Favourable Report- on Brodie’s Condition. (Special to the ** Star.”) DUNEDIN, This Day. The hospital report this morning concerning the condition of B. H. Brodie, who was injured in a fall when riding Madam Pompadour in the Trial Handicap at Wingatui yesterday, was very satisfactory. The doctors are now satisfied that, apart from a fractured jaw, he escaped any serious head injury. He passed a good night and the doctors are pleased with his condition. REMANDS GRANTED. Mr E. D. Mosley. S.M., presided at a sitting of the Magistrate’s Court today. Walter Campbell White. 33 years of age, of St Asaph Street, a salesman, was charged that on February 9, 1935, at Christchurch, with intent to defraud, he obtained from John Reginald Woodley the sum of £4 by means of a valueless cheque. He was remanded to appear on February 21. Henry Frank Seymour, 25 years of age, of no fixed abode, a labourer, was charged with wilfully breaking a plate glass window -valued at £ls. the property of Walter Edward Kiddy, thereby committing mischief. He was further charged that on February 14. 1935, he behaved in a disorderly manner while drunk in Durham Street. He was remanded for medical examination.
