G. M. MOURITZ.

New Trainer for Durbar Lodge. The Addington horseman, G. M. Mouritz, has been appointed private trainer to Durbar Lodge, Ltd. Mouritz came to New Zealand from Victoria several years ago with Mr F. B. M’Farlane’s team, which included Nimble Direct. He returned to Australia and joined Mr M’Farlane when he made his second trip and brought Huon Voyage, Wilbur White. Princess Mauritius and Nimble Direct to the Dominion about two 3-ears ago. During the tour Mouritz severed his association with Mr M’Farlane and set up as a public trainer at Addington. During the period he has been at headquarters he has displayed great ability as a horseman, and the thorough and patient methods he has adopted in the preparation of horses of all ages have earned the appreciation of students of the pastime. Mouritz has won all kinds of races, his most important successes being with Wild Guy in the recent Dunedin Cup and in the Metropolitan Handicap at the Forbury Park Trotting Club’s summer meeting. At Durbar Lodge he will have about ten horses in regular training, and several young horses to educate and develop. Among the active members of the team are Ciro, Bitter Sweet, First Wrack, Raclaim, Epilogue, Vanity Fair and Interlude. In appointing G. M. Mouritz Durbar Lodge, Ltd., has made a happy choice, and the new combination should enjoy much success.
