RHODES HOME.
Heating of Corridors Suggested. The annual meeting of members of the Rhodes Memorial Convalescent Home (Incorporated) was held at the home this morning. There were preseiit; —Mesdames K. Hogg, W. M. Hamilton and H. Anderson, Messrs A H. “hanks, A. K. Cocks, C. (J. M’Kellar, A. V. Winchester, J. H. A. Moore and J. H. Rhodes (chairman). The chairman, speaking to the annual report, said that the position was extremely satisfactory. The maintenance account showed a surplus of £SO*J lis yd. This reflected great credit on the management of the matron, Miss M. Baxter. The sum of £250 had been set aside for repairs to the drive and entra nee. Mr M’Kellar said that he thought that the comfort of the inmates of the home should receive attention before the drive and entrance. The corridors were cold in the winter, and he suggested that some kind of heating apparatus should be installed. The report and balance-sheet were received, and it was decided to consider means of heating the corridors. Messrs L. Bowen and A. V. Winchester were re-elected members of the committee, and Mr J. W. K. Lawrence was re-elected auditor. The meeting closed with a vote of thanks to the matron, Mr Moore and the staff for their services during the past year.
