PROBATION GRANTED.
Clerk Who Stole From County Council. Per Press Association. WANGANUI, This Day. Norman Leslie Tyler, a clerk, who was found guilty yesterday of the theft of money amounting to £ls 4s, the property of the Waitotara County Council, while he was clerk in charge of the unemployment relief department, was admitted to probation for three years by Mr Justice Blair, and ordered to repay the £ls 4s. His Honor said he took into consideration the recommendation of the jury that the money had not been appropriated for Tyler’s own use, but to make up shortages in the cash.
